HOME OF FOG & RAIN

A little familiar.
A little unexplained.

A coastal town. An open invitation.

01 / THE ATMOSPHERE

A town first.
Mysteries all around it.

Oulbury is a present-day coastal island between Canada and the British Isles, with a history reaching back to 1405. Old streets, warm gathering places and a sense of isolation give ordinary days their own character.

There is room for friendship, work, romance, celebrations and quiet afternoons. The mystery is there when you want to explore it. Community life is a reason to be here all on its own.

The Veil & the Nightwell

Part of the island’s supernatural mythology. Use them as inspiration for a rumour, a mystery or an unusual encounter.

The Longest Night

An island tradition shaped by an annual stretch of darkness. Follow its stories if they interest you, or let it remain a distant local legend.

02 / OPTIONAL FREEFORM ROLEPLAY

Bring your imagination.
Leave room for theirs.

Create the character and stories you want to write. No character application or lore exam is required. Humans, established Oulbury lineages, original supernatural concepts and anthropomorphic shapeshifters are welcome.

The lore is a creative reference. You do not need to adopt every detail or take part in official plots. Agree with your writing partners on the tone, abilities, connections and limits that make your shared scene work.

A starting point, not a required character sheet.

Existing lineages can inspire a character, but they are not a closed list. Original shapeshifters and the established Shattered lineage remain distinct concepts.

03 / PEOPLE BEFORE PLOT TWISTS

Your story.
A space we share.

Keep other people’s characters, homes and boundaries in mind. Ask before joining a scene, agree on meaningful consequences and leave everyone room to respond.

If an idea affects someone else’s story, a shared location or an island-wide event, coordinate with the people involved. Freeform works through consent and conversation. You can pause, change direction or leave a scene.
